The Camarillo Airport is located on the southwest corporate limits of the City of Camarillo, State of California. The airport is classified as a general aviation reliever airport for the Los Angeles, CA area, supporting a wide range of general aviation activity, including Ultralight Flight Instruction (UFI), Ultralight hangers, and a dedicated, paved ultralight runway.

The airport is home to nearly 20 aviation related businesses. These businesses provide such services as aircraft charter and rentals, aircraft maintenance, flight training, pilot supplies, and ultralight flight facilities and training. The airport also plays host to some 15 non-aviation businesses providing a varying range of services. These businesses are located throughout the airport's business park, which is located on the south end of the airport.

The airport is conveniently located a mile and a half southwest of Camarillo's business district and within a ten minute drive from the beach. There are several historic attractions within a twenty minute drive from the airport, including the Ventura Mission, Olivas Adobe, and Ventura Pier. There are three shopping malls also located within a twenty minute drive from the airport, along with three golf courses.
